Holly wins Young Business Executive at the WSABE Awards!

Written by Ben Newsome on August 20th, 2016.      0 comments

Since 2004 I've worked with some fantastic people in science communication and it was great to see one of our own get recognised for the hard work she's done to help Fizzics Education reach >250,000 kids a year. Last night Holly won the Young Business Executive section of the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence amongst some fantastic individuals from across the Sydney basin.

This was a great way to finish off National Science Week 2016, which saw us deliver 126 shows in across 4 cities, including family science days at Science in the Swamp at Centennial Parklands, Jurassic Garden at Australian Botanic Gardens, a particle physics show to support the Collider exhibit at the Museum of Applied Arts & Sciences and liquid nitrogen shows at the Indigenous Science Experience for the National Indigenous Science Education Program (NISEP) run by Macquarie University.

The Fizzics team is very proud to have Holly working with us and there's certainly a buzz in the office after only just receiving a distance education award this month through the Center for Interactive Learning & Collaboration and the Australian Small Business Champion for Education Services earlier this year! Thanks to the WSABE team for putting on a great evening at Bicentennial Park and to Dooleys Lidcomb for sponsoring the award.

Anyway, it's back to work as we continue to deliver science shows and workshops to schools and more throughout Term 3 and into the end of the year. It's a fun job, but someone has to do it!

Happy teaching!
