Who stole the cake? Forensics fun with Saturday Disney.

Fizzics Education had a bit of fun last week as we filmed a short segment for Saturday Disney – “Who stole the cake?”. With a few props and couple of takes Shae Brewster from Saturday Disney was on the case as we looked at:

  • Finger prints on the wrapping paper…
  • Plaster casting of footprints near the crime scene…
  • Hair and clothing fibre analysis with a digital microscope
  • DNA extraction
These types of presentations work very well for children as it shows science in a fun, accessible way and it was quite easy to put together as we could adapt our forensic science school visit for the filming.
Thanks Yahoo7 TV, Saturday Disney and all the kids who helped out!
