During the 2017 January holidays we're collaborating with the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney to provide a range of exciting, engaging and hands-on school holiday programs! 
 

This unique site offers the opportunity for your kids to find out more about the fascinating research being conducted by botanists every day in this landmark site.

  • Please bring food, a drink, a hat and appropriate clothing for science activities.

NB: No peanuts allowed on-site


If children stay for the full day simply book your child into 2 x half day workshops and we'll take care of them during the break!

These holiday programs often sell out early; get in early to ensure that you don't miss out!

How to get to the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

Drive or walk along Art Gallery Road, Woolloomooloo. Once you pass the Art Gallery of NSW you will cross over the Cahill Expressway. Look to your left and you will see the education center tucked in behind the main office reception for the Royal Botanic Garden.

Geology rocks! Enter the geology lab as we look at rock formation, minerals and more in a fun hands-on holiday workshop. Grow your own crystals, find out how volcanoes erupt, learn about earthquakes, discover why plants favour particular soils and participate in the techniques used by geologists to study and classify the Earth.

  • Wear old clothes… we’re going to get dirty! 
  • Please bring a snack, a drink and a hat with you on the day.
  • You can also stay for the full day if you book into the afternoon Plants for Life session

Plants for Life

The hidden science of plants! In this hands-on biology workshop we look closely at how pollination, photosynthesis and more work in a practical session where you get to be the scientist.

Using digital microscopes and dissections to get close-up on flowers & leaves to investigate their functions, discover how plants survive extreme environments and learn why certain plants are found in particular areas of Sydney. You even create a take home botany experiment to run at home!

Time: 1:00pm to 4:00pm
