Lego Robotics Holiday programmes
A great wet weather alternative!

An interactive hands-on workshop with a difference!

Using laptops and the brand new NXT Lego Mindstorms robots, children will be able to find out how a robot really works.

Age limited to 8 years and up.

The programing itself is based on Lego's easy understand NXT computer program, whereby students intuitively use the simple 'drag and drop' icons to form their code.

The workshop is built around a series of challenges, dependant on ability and interest;

- dont knock the Lego man over!
- dash around the block
- follow the black line
- herd the sheep into the pen
- bulldozer minesweeper
- 'robot dancing' or 'robot wars'

Alternatively children can creatively making their own routines following the initial instruction, again dependent upon their ability.

Limited to 30 children as a maximum per workshop

Working in pairs, children will need to be guided step by step on how to program their robot to perform precise movements as well as how to operate environmental sensors such as light and sound. The fewer the children, the better contact with one of our instructors for help and troubleshooting.

Duration

90 minutes.

Cost

$300 for the first workshop and $200 for each additional workshop on the same day & venue.

- It is not a problem if you want younger children to attend this workshop as they can pair up with older children, however, we do strongly recommend that children under 7 years old attend our Beebots workshop as the Lego robotics workshop is a platform designed for older children.

Requirements

- A well lit indoor area with access to electrical power
- At least 30 minutes for setup and pack up.
