We generally run these programmes in people homes as it often is the best for all concerned, however sometimes your home may just not be suitable;
Eg.
- You live in a small unit or terrace house and cannot realistically fit 15 children in your home.
- You are renovating or in the process of moving.
- You simply just dont want the kids in your home!

Party venue solutions
The following lists a number of party venue ideas that people have used in the past:
- A local Scout or Church Hall.
They can often be hired for less than a normal community centre and the funds raised helps your local community.
- Your own school or preschool.
These places already have infrastructure in place to handle large numbers of children. Teachers are often happy to run these science parties as an extension class, just make sure you seek permission from both the classroom teacher and the school principal. We are fully insured, authorised by the NSW DET, have completed Working with Children Checks for each staff member and no activity will affect the school or preschool grounds. If a 'science party' isn't favourable to the teacher, perhaps we can run one of our NSW Department of Education authorised programmes at your school as a science incursion instead? Our workshops are run throughout NSW in both government and independent primary and high schools and are highly engaging with very strong curriculum links.
- Hire a local council community hall.
These places are fitted with kitchens and public toilets, and often have additional play equipment, tables and chairs for you to use. Contact your local council for more information. Please be aware that weekends often book out quickly in these venues. Some inner city venues have extremely poor parking, please remember that parking close to the venue is a requirement for us to run a successful party for you - we carry a large amount of equipment that needs to be unloaded. The following gives just a small selection of the variuous halls in which we have run parties in the past:
Eastern suburbs:
Cooper Park Hall, Bellevue Hill
Holdsworth Street Centre, Woollahra
Lower North Shore
Harbord literary institute, Harbord
Various Scout Halls, Mosman
Blue Mountains
Various council halls, Blue Mountains district
Northern Beaches
Various council halls, Pittwater
Hills district
Various council halls, Baulkham Hills
South-western Sydney
Various council halls, Liverpool
Sutherland Shire
Various council halls, Sutherland shire
- Use your local park.
There are some associated problems with local parks however.
Bench space and shade can be limited, so it's best to be prepared to provide your own shelter, tables and chairs. Car parking can be very limited - if you have a lot equipment to transport this can make the party difficult to prepare - this includes our programmes as well so please be considerate of our staff. Also the weather can dramatically change your plans, it is worth having a back up plan in case of poor weather. We prefer to run our birthday party programmes away from the general public for crowd control and therefore your guests safety - please keep this in mind when selecting a local park. Remember to be SunSmart and choose a shaded area - kids rarely bring their hats to a science party!
- If all else fails, ask a friend.
All we really need is a reasonably sized space to work in and an outside area to make bubbles and slime.
Often the best is simply a car garage!
Regardless of the programme location, our presenters have a lot experience in running science parties in all sorts of situations. Just contact our office to discuss your situation.
Check our birthday requirements for further information on what is
needed to make it a success
