A hands on workshop covering chemical changes
during reactions using food.

Make cool slime! Which foods contain starch?
Which foods contain glucose? Does crystal size affect chemical reaction rates?
Determine the iron content of your food using tea bags.
Use an indicator to work out if your food is acidic or basic.
What do molecules look like anyway? Does heat affect chemical reactions?
+ many others!

Students investigate chemical reactions that result in changes in colour, heat and phase.

Requirements

- Appropriate for Years 3 to 6 with a maximum of 30 students per workshop

- Access to a sink with running water.

- 12 tables arranged around the edge of the room. Chairs are not required.

- Duration 60 minutes, set up time 45 minutes and pack up time 45 minutes

Cost

- $195 inc. GST per class.
