Hambledon Road Public School, Quakers Hill: Astronomy night A very BIG thank you to you and your team for the successful workshops you ran on Friday night. After a quick talk with the kids this morning they were still very much on a high about the night. I specifically asked them about the workshops and they thought they were all excellent. As one child put it, "I didn't know we were having professionals run the workshops, I thought it was just going to be the teachers!". I was concerned that by the third workshop they would be a bit flat but you all managed to keep them entertained right to the end. Well done!! I also appreciated your flexibility through out the planning stages and the evening. Thanks again for an astronomical night! Croydon Park Public School: K to 2 Curious Kids All students were totally engaged in the hands-on activities and extremely attentive during the demonstrations. A very worthwhile day! Bourke - Walgett School of Distance Education: Lego robotics/Create a Buzz/Liquid Nitrogen Show/Exploring Science... The presenter was enthusiastic and animated about all things scientific... his presentations were exciting for the students. The programmes specifically suited the stage level and worked perfectly. I was very impressed with the range and complexity of the equipment provided and the generous 'hand-on' use of it. A very valuable resource. St John Boscoe Engadine: Stars & Planets Years 5 & 6 Engaging and lots of fun with hands on activities at the appropriate level of the students. They were very excited. Highly recomended. Berala Public School: K to 2 Curious Kids Students were very enthusiastic during the performance and discussed many of the forces explored following the show. All were active participants. [This] workshop was an excellent support & challenge to our 'powering on' unit of work. It demonstrated what we had been learning but also posed more questions and challenges. We appreciated the teacher workshop for professional learning. Highly recommended. Beresford Road Public School: Liquid Nitrogen Show for K to 6 We all enjoyed the show - it kept kids from Kinder to Year 6 interested as well as attending parents. A great way to get kids involved & fitted our halloween theme. Will recommend to others! Ascham Girls: Scientific Method Stage 2 Fun and interactive, the girls thoroughly enjoyed it. Professional and well informed. We enjoyed this incursion and would definitely consider using this company again. The experiments all related well to the programme topic and this added valuable knowledge and understanding to our weather studies at school. The enthusiasm of the presenter (combined) with the hands on approach on a variety of displays made for a great programme. Our kids were fully engaged throughout the programme. Manly Council Environment Day: Years 9 to 12 Renewable Energy programme Dynamic and interactive for the students. Interesting, diverse and innovative props. Very comprehensive and well adapted explanations. I thought it was excellent... very beneficial to the students curriculum. St Hurmizd Assyrian Primary School: Year 4 Liquid Nitrogen Show I liked how the scientific laws were taught in a visual way, (as well as) showing practical tools used by scientists. I liked the idea of relating concepts to the real world... mixing scientific information with a variety of fun activities. Very successful. Bowral Public School: Working Mathematically Stage 3: High level of kinaesthetic activities that were extremely engaging. Activities related to real life experiences and had lots of variety. Well prepared and friendly presenter. St Philip Neri: Curious Kids Stage 1: I like the amount of opportunity for hands on interaction for the children. They had all had things to go home and try. (I liked) the freedom to create that the kids had as well as the support & help supplied. The activities were varied and fun (and we) had access to 'expensive' stuff that schools dont have. Better than expected! Excellent hands on activities at an appropriate level for the group, promoting thought and developing understanding. The students were very engaged. Clear, enthusiastic explanations with positive reinforcement of answers received.
