Black Swan
Description
Stands to 1 metre. Prefers permanent swamps and waterways with abundant emergent and sub-aquatic vegetation. Becomes flightless during post breeding moult. Can form large colonies of 1000's of individuals.

Nests
Breeds from April to October., as well as in any month after substantial rains.
Generally 4 to 6 greenish-white eggs laid in a heap of reeds, grasses and aquatic plants.
