Australian King Parrot
Scientific Name

Alisterus scapularis Family Psittacidae

Status

Common to uncommon in Eastern Australia.

Habitat

Wet and dry eucalypt i.e. 'sclerophyll' forests, rainforests, palm forests, coastal woodlands, parks and gardens.
Food Source

Blossoms, fruit, palm shoots and new mistletoe foliage, as well as planted fruit crops.

Nests

Tree hollows with a high entrance. Generally 3 to 5 white rounded eggs.
