Status

Near threatened.
Found in South Australia and western NSW.

Habitat

Broken, rock scree and low cliffs in semi-arid ranges.
Description

Occurs in groups of up to 100. Mostly nocturnal but basks in sunshine in cool weather.
Feeds on grasses and forbs. Breeds in any month. has a distinctive long grayish-yellow tail that is often striped with dark rings. Threatened by fox populations, wildfires and loss of habitat.
