2018 September Holiday Science Programs @ Narre Community Learning Center

Can we build it?

Holiday science fun! Construct creations & test just how good you really are! Kids will learn design thinking as they engineer solutions that will test their contraptions to the limit. Can you create the strongest bridge? Can you design a 'moon lander' spacecraft that can carry a precious egg cargo safely to the ground from a great height? It's up to your skills and your ideas; it's all about giving kids the opportunity to problem solve using a set amount of materials and a time limit!

  • Content covers deceleration, crumple zones, cushioning, retro rockets, extraterrestrial atmospheres and current NASA space missions. Great holiday program fun!

  • On booking please be advised that hot glue guns are used throughout this workshop. Appropriate safety precautions and instructions are provided. All care is taken however we do not take responsibility for injuries caused by misuse of our equipment.

Crazy Contraptions!

Learn about simple machines like levers, pulleys and wheels and then take these ideas, plus physics (think gravity, friction and how things move) to create crazy contraptions. Use lots of complex steps like marbles rolling, dominoes falling and whatever other wacky moves you can think of to perform a simple task, like ringing a bell. Let the fun begin and your imagination run wild!
