In the July 2018 school holidays, Narre Community Learning Centre welcomes Fizzics Education to provide a range of exciting, engaging and hands-on school holiday programs!

  • Half and full day holiday program workshops and activities appropriate for all Melbourne school-aged children.
  • Please bring food, a drink, a hat and appropriate clothing for science activities.

What to bring to our holiday programs
  If children stay for the full day simply book your child into 2 x half day workshops and we'll take care of them during the break! These holiday program workshop sold out quickly - get in early to ensure that you don't miss out!  Refunds available if the event is cancelled or rescheduled.

Location of the Narre Community Learning Centre

Located just south of Bunnings Fountain Gate, you'll find parking at 1 Malcolm Court in Narre Warren.
If you're arriving by train, the Narre Warren Railway Station is 400m away and is roughly a 5-minute walk.

Lego Robotics 1 Workshop

Learn how to program our Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots to do your bidding! In this exciting program learn how to teach a robot to do what you wish using motors, sensors and more. This workshop is ideal for those children interested in computing and want to learn more about what Lego can do!

  • Please bring a snack and a drink with you on the day
  • For Grades 3 to 8

Extreme Engineering

Get your build on! The kids will have a blast in this school holiday workshop where they put their imagination to the test constructing all sorts of contraptions. We’ll investigate the design and structures of towers and bridges to understand what gives them the strength to hold up, and create complex machines using common materials!

Rip-roaring Rockets & Space

Make water rockets fly, learn the Newtonian principles behind rocketry, find out about technologies needed to survive in space and where the future may lie. Investigate gyroscopes, hold meteorites, see a real space shuttle tile get tested under flame, make a rocket cart to keep and more!

  • Please bring a snack, a drink and a hat with you on the day
  • Grades 2 to 6

Fantastic Flight

See flying toilet paper, vortex smoke rings, crushing cans, exploding balloon dogs, cool chemistry and more as we go through the what our atmosphere made of, what conditions are needed to cause tornadoes, how a paper plane flies and more! Pair this with the morning Rockets & Space program for a full day of science fun!
