One of our science presenters will go through the difference between a catapult and a trebuchet as well as the use of triangles to handle the tension imposed on the catapult. Children then work with hot glue guns to construct their catapult with the help of your staff and our presenter. Children finished early have the option of making a target or paper castle to aim at with the catapult. All safety equipment is supplied. It is recommended that this work be run for children 7 years and older due to the use of hot glue guns. If parents wish to join in they are more than welcome. The children will work together to construct their creations and will have a chance to use them to knock down paper castles or shoot for a target on completion. We will bring table covers and work mats for each hands-on station. The children can take home their catapult at the end of the session.
