You don't have to 'squeeze science in', make science part of every lesson, even art and craft!

This hands on workshop is designed for teachers interested in integrating creative science experiments into the standard school curriculum. Suitable for all K to 6 Teachers.

Emphasis is placed on demonstrating cost effective experiments that have been shown to have a real impact on children's understanding of basic scientific processes.

Content

Simple experiments based on light, sound, energy, movement and more are shown. We want you and your teachers to be comfortable with getting simple ingredients from local supermarkets and turning them into engaging and worthwhile classroom experiments. This is not a powerpoint presentation; it's a bunch of experiments demonstrated to your staff that have been classroom tested, often syllabus linked and therefore worth your time attending!

Participation is actively encouraged, including a links to further lesson plan ideas.

Requirements

- Appropriate for up to 30 teachers or more!

- 2 tables arranged around the edge of the room

- Access to running water

- Access to an OHP, whiteboard and electrical power

- Duration 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your timeframe

- Set up time 45 minutes and pack up time 45 minutes

This workshop is free for school within the Sydney metropolitan area that book our workshops. Country areas please call to check availability. We can also arrange this via video conference if time does not allow us to present this on the day of your school visit.
