This aligns with the ACARA General capabilities and career education

The Australian Curriculum provides opportunities for teachers to develop school-based approaches to career education. Through the effective use of the three dimensions of the curriculum – learning areas, general capabilities and cross-curriculum priorities – teachers can plan innovative and context-specific career education programs to suit the needs of their students and the community.

  • Self and Society Learning – Find resources that help students identify their interests, values, and potential contributions.
  • Integrated Career Learning – View examples of career education embedded in curriculum to build future readiness.

Expanding Horizons

At this stage, the more meaningful interactions, the better. Career School connects students with a diverse range of professionals across sectors, backgrounds, and cultures.

  • Students gain realistic insights into the workplace by speaking directly with those in it—something they value more than classroom explanations.

  • Multiple encounters challenge assumptions, update career thinking, and broaden labour market understanding.

  • Parents receive a career action plan to help guide and support their teen’s exploration.

  • Workbook and journal – Each student uses for guided discussions with parents
