In the January school holidays, Sydney Olympic Park again welcomes Fizzics Education to the education center to provide a range of exciting, engaging and hands-on school holiday programs as part of the Kids in the Park program!

  • Half and full day holiday program workshops and activities appropriate for all Sydney school-aged children.
  • Please bring food, a drink, a hat and appropriate clothing for science activities.

What to bring to our holiday programs

  • snacks for breaks (including lunch if your child is staying for the whole day
  • hat
  • water bottle
  • any medications – Any children that require an EpiPen must bring a minimum of 1 on the day in association with the ASCIA Guidelines as well as associated Anaphylaxis Management Plans

If children want to stay for the full day, simply book your child into the 2 x half day workshops and we’ll take care of them during the break! These holiday program workshops sell out quickly – get in early to ensure that you don’t miss out!

NB: No peanuts allowed on-site.

A Parent or Guardian is required to sign the child in upon arrival and then sign them out when picking them up after the workshop. Refunds may be available if the event is cancelled or rescheduled.

Location of Sydney Olympic Park Education Center

The Education Centre is located within Bicentennial Park in Sydney Olympic Park. To get there, enter the park via the Australia Avenue gates and follow the signs around to the P10F carpark (it is almost at the park exit). Once you reach P10F, you’ll see signs to the Education Centre! If you’re arriving by train, Concord West train station is closer to the venue than Olympic Park train station.

Gross & Gory Science

Ewwww, gross! Explore all things creepy and gooey in the name of studying the human body. Make fake snot, vile vomit bombs, exploding pimples, fake wounds and more. Not for the faint hearted…but so much fun! Wear old clothes in this one.

Monday, January 14 Time: 9:00am to 12:00pm

Extreme Engineering

Engineers use science and their imaginations to make things bigger and better! Test out your problem-solving skills and learn about real-life applications of scientific theories and laws as you put your creativity to the test as you crash test contraptions, construct towers, build bridges, make rockets and more! Pair this with the afternoon Gross and Gory program for a full day of science fun!

Wet and Wonderful Science

Get your hands and your brains wet with this super fun workshop exploring the awesome properties of water and bubbles. Jam-packed with hands-on experiments kids do themselves we learn about surface tension, experiment with air pressure, make giant bubbles, launch rockets into the sky and so much more.

Tuesday, January 22 Time: 9:00am to 12:00pm

Curious Kids

Covering light, sound, movement, energy changes, air pressure and more as your child uses the hands-on science toys and experiments themselves. Plus, our demonstrator will show you how can you sit on a chair of nails and shoot fog rings across the room. Then get creative and use what you have learnt about physics to build a track of marble run mayhem around the room!
