Cool chemical science! This session is a great way to explore mixtures and simple variables in an outdoor environment. Slime is non-toxic and will not stain fabric and the children can take their slime and sherbet home. NB: This can be a messy workshop – choose a suitable site! Online Class Version We’ve run live interactive distance programs since 2010 and are highly experienced in making online classes engaging for kids on a variety of web conferencing platforms. Activities may vary from those listed for the face-to-face version and will be tailored to age groups attending online. Upon booking, you will receive a PDF outlining the materials that you can have on hand to make the workshop more interactive. Read More Science workshop experiments Content The workshop is built around 3 modules; Chemistry of giant bubbles. Investigate the effects of changing the bubble mixture. Sherbet making. Witness that certain ingredients can be combined to create a reaction. Slime making. Learn to follow a procedure and problem solve to get the desired result. Whilst we have a bunch of fun we also concentrate of teaching that fair testing of variables and clearly communicating results throughout each module. There’s also time for a rocket launch to really demonstrate that variables can have a big influence on the result… plus, to be honest who doesn’t like a rocket?!? This workshop is best run outdoors on a grassed area near a table otherwise an undercover area out of the rain will suffice.
