Teaching ideas for a Newton’s Cradle

Have students use this model as a scaffold to creating a larger version! We’ve even seen Newton’s cradles that have been constructed with bowling balls (!). If you do decide to make the balls large, make sure that it has appropriate guarding such as a perspex screen to protect body parts from being pinched or hurt between the large masses swinging and hitting together.
Try getting students to create a modified design, whereby balls roll along a U-shaped track.
Students can research Sir Isaac Newton and produce a poster or project that depicts one of his many discoveries.
Have students list and describe the 3 Laws of Motion.
