Global distance learning opportunities

Global distance learning opportunities

Follow FizzicsEd Articles:

I’ve been asked a few times now about which global distance learning opportunities are out there. Sure, Fizzics Education has been running >30 distance learning programs for years, but that doesn’t help you if you are looking for experienced providers in other countries and not just science programs. So with this in mind, below are colleagues from around the world who for many years have run distance education programs at world standards. It is well worth your time reaching out to them!

By the way, I personally know many of the presenters at these sites through both the ISTE Interactive Video Conferencing Professional Learning Network as my through my 2013 Churchill Fellowship in best practice in science education via video conference. Many of these people are close friends as well as colleagues. They are also multi-award winners for distance education.

Across the ISTE IVCPLN there are people who have years of experience who can help you. You can also find out more about my own background here too.

In these times, we need to think globally as well as act locally.

The National World War II Museum

The team at the National World War II Museum do an amazing job at bringing to life the stories, the hidden histories and real connections to the period of world history. This is not a series of black and white photos… it’s interactive and highly engaging. Well worth checking out.

There are so many distance learning opportunities available!

I could keep listing sites but eventually this article would just get too long (apologies for those I’ve missed!). There are hundreds of sites that have qualified distance educators that you engage with your students at home, you just need to know where to look. I’m privileged to be a board advisor to the Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC) as well as co-founder of Virtual Excursions Australia. Both of these sites are in contact with the best people in distance education in the world, as voted by the thousands of teachers who have booked their programs for years.
